A DIFFERENT APPROACH
There is a definite difference in the way traditional medical doctors and natural healers approach and treat an illness. In traditional medicine, usually indentifying symptoms as an illness by “name” is the first step. This is usually followed by giving a prescription to treat that particular illness. For example, we often say “I have a prescription for high blood pressure, or allergies, or acid reflux,” and so on.
Sometimes, however, medical doctors claim to find nothing wrong with a patient if their symptoms don’t fit a particular “label” or “name” of a disease or illness. They often send the patient to a round of specialists in the hope that one of them can find and put a name to the symptoms. If not, the patient may simply be told there is nothing really wrong with them, or that it is “all in their head”. They are then dismissed without treatment, for without a label, or name of a disease or illness, there can be no treatment or prescription given.
Contrasting this with natural healing, the main difference is that natural healers, for the most part, don’t see illness, or symptoms, in terms of their “label” or “name”. They may refer to these names as a means of communicating with the patient, but each disease “name” is seen and treated in terms of an energy imbalance somewhere in the body. Medical doctors treat what natural healers see as “symptoms”, rather than the CAUSE of the symptoms.
SYMPTOMS VS. CAUSE
Natural healing looks beyond symptoms and labels to see what caused those symptoms in the first place. Eliminate the cause – eliminate the symptoms – cure the patient. There can be no real cure if the initial root cause of the problem isn’t eliminated, and prescriptions don’t always do this, in spite of relieving symptoms.
What happens if a person with severe allergies stops taking their allergy prescription? Chances are the allergies will come back with a vengeance. The patient was not, literally, “cured” of the allergies, only the allergic symptoms disappeared. For this reason, some people see prescriptions as a means of masking the true illness by eliminating the outward symptoms. Eliminate the prescriptions, and the patient is back to square one. They are forever chained to the prescription if they want the feeling of being healthy.
By contrast, in natural healing each “disease”, for the most part, has a certain common pattern of imbalanced energy associated with it. Natural healers can readily treat these imbalances, which are considered to be the underlying cause of the illness. As a result, the illness vanishes, leaving the patient not only FEELING healthy, but actually BEING healthy, and what we call -“cured”!
In ancient China, Doctors of Oriental Medicine only got paid if the person was CURED. No cure, no pay! If that were true of our medical doctors today, one has to wonder how many doctors would actually get paid!
WEAKNESS VS.STRENGTH
Another major difference between Traditional Western Medicine and Natural Healing involves the condition of the patient after receiving treatment.
In Western Medicine, often one prescription is not enough. Some people are on two or three prescriptions for just one health problem. Sometimes, one health problem seems to lead to another, requiring more prescriptions. Medical doctors often feel the need to regularly monitor their patients through frequent office visits. At these visits, as time goes on, the prescriptions are either increased, or made more powerful to handle the same illness. Why is this so? Why aren’t the prescriptions, eventually, eliminated?
Prescriptions generally weaken the body. TV ads repeatedly talk about the many side effects of common prescriptions. Prescriptions are not natural substances. They are man-made drugs which our bodies want to reject. Our bodies can’t wait to get rid of the toxic overload from prescriptions. That’s why having a strong liver, and kidney’s is vital to taking most of them. The liver and kidneys are the two major organs that deal with toxic overload, and eliminating those toxins from the body. The harder the liver and kidneys work, the weaker they can become. Toxins from prescriptions have the ability to stress every aspect of our system.
Besides the added toxic load, prescriptions don’t really “cure” the problem, so as the illness lies hidden behind the mask of prescriptions, it continues to damage and weaken the area of the body that it involves. This might be one reason why a prescription needs to be made more powerful, or have other prescriptions to go along with it. It is also thought to be why some health conditions seem to lead to others. Weakness and deterioration throughout the body creates more and different health problems over time.
Contrasting this with Natural Healing, one can see that by dealing with the underlying cause of the illness, rather than the symptoms, you get to the root of the problem, eventually leading to a point where it no longer exists. Natural Healers often choose to see their patients at regular intervals to monitor their progress. The visits serve to check on how well the energy is flowing and rebalancing, and how many fewer symptoms the patient is having. As the illness begins to reverse itself, the patient requires less and less treatment, – not more!
With Natural Healing, each person is treated as an individual, with their own unique energy pattern. Therefore, no two people will automatically be treated the same just because they have the same symptoms, or health condition. By focusing on the entire body as a unit, rather than treating separate parts of it, independently, you get complete body healing.
As each person receives their own unique treatment, their symptoms disappear. By strengthening energy weaknesses, you strengthen the organs, glands, and systems of the body that were struggling. The end result is a body that is stronger, healthier, and working at peak efficiency. With the energy flowing smoothly, the symptoms vanish, and seldom return. Many people who have turned to Natural Healing end up feeling stronger, healthier, more alive and vibrant than they ever have before – regardless of age!
For life-threatening injuries, or illness, Traditional Medicine is more effective with the use of emergency equipment in hospitals and trauma centers. But, for most illness and disease, Natural Healing can give complete healing, and have a positive effect on your entire body.
More and more medical doctors are integrating Natural Healing therapies into their practices as they begin to realize their effectiveness. This is termed “integrated medicine”, and offers a bit of both worlds to patients who are reluctant to abandon traditional healing methods, entirely.
“RIGHT AWAY” VS. “A NATURAL PACE”
Another fundamental difference between Traditional and Natural Healing is one that most people who approach Natural Healing have trouble accepting, or adjusting to . . .
In Traditional Medicine treatments, even with over-the-counter medicines, the patient experiences relief fairly quickly. Be it prescriptions, aspirin, allergy medicines, or cough syrup, in Western Medicine the relief can be apparent usually within a half hour. But, when the treatment time expires, the health problem and the symptoms often return.
In Natural Healing the pace is slower. Many herbal teas, extracts, and therapies, such as Aromatherapy, can give nearly immediate relief. But, while relieving symptoms is important, that is not the goal of Natural Healing!
Natural Healing has the ability to actually CURE a patient of what is ailing him! Depending on how long one waits before turning to Natural Healing, a cure can come within a day, days, weeks, or months. Usually 3 months is an average time frame for overcoming serious, long-standing energy imbalances. Three weeks is an average healing time for less serious problems. And, three days is typical for those who wait a month or less to get treatment. For a person who practices Natural Healing on a regular basis, and acts immediately on a health problem, results can be seen within 24 hours! When and how one uses Natural Healing makes all the difference in the world.
